Each of the 8 different 100-piece jigsaw puzzles (sold separately) is an invigorating blast to solve. Each puzzle includes a Story Mat - a poster version of the assembled puzzle with blank lines on it for writing a story, along with a lead-free pencil. The Story Mat acts as the creative catalyst, a launch pad for ideas that gets the creative juices flowing. Kids take in its rich visuals and write down what comes to mind. Author's Tips on the flipside do a concise and excellent job of helping young authors delve into and develop what the images evoke. Kids are inspired to write a different story each time they solve the puzzle. These interwoven activities form a potent combination through which kids build creative confidence, develop mental acuity, and experience the pure pleasure of using both sides of the brain.
