In Rule Crazy, the sheer glee induced by the wackiness of randomly formed sentences is the engine that drives players' desire and efforts to read. These sentences each take the form of a rule of sorts - 'Six crazy crayons must never eat a slimy worm,' or 'Santa Claus may only hiccup at school.' Each sentence is formed from phrases appearing on 3 different cards revealed face up in the card tray on a given player's turn. A player has the option of replacing up to two of those cards with mystery cards if he doesn't like the sentence, a factor that ups the verbal ante. Wild Cards periodically appear, to an individual player's benefit or detriment. Reading the often hilarious rules aloud enables a player to move his or her token forward on the game board, aiming to reach the Win space. However, the silliness of the sentences is the prime motivator. For budding readers, it seems, hilarity is a delicious reward.
