If you've been pondering getting your thinking cap out of the closet and dusting it off, fear not. Mentagy will have you flexing your mental muscles in no time. It is a series of puzzles whose solutions each use all the letters of the alphabet in a grid consisting of nine 2 X 2 boxes. There are puzzles ranging from beginner to advanced. Each new puzzle has different blacked out cells that cannot be used and different given letters in place at the outset. Your challenge is to fill in all the empty cells with letters such that each new letter is adjacent to the previous letter of the alphabet and each row and column, once you're done, contains exactly one vowel. Also, once you place a letter in any 2 X 2 box, you must fill in the remainder of that box before proceeding to a new box. How challenging you find Mentagy will shift over time. As you gain experience, you'll happily move to the more difficult puzzles. Regardless of your level, one thing is certain - logic and reasoning will get you everywhere. This set includes a paperback book loaded with Mentagy puzzles that can be solved right on the page, BUT, it is so much more fun to solve them in 3 dimensions using the hardwood game board and pieces that are included. Your brain will thank you!
