This unusually fun craft kit includes a dramatic payoff that occurs when the results of children's handiwork is revealed. That pleasurable outcome consists of a soft, fuzzy, adorable spotted dog kids don't want to be separated from once they lay eyes on him. How he came to be is a bit of crafting magic kids enjoy as much for the simple, compelling process as for the fantastic result it yields. That process consists largely of stretching and layering pieces of colored wool onto a two-piece mold, spraying and smoothing the wool with a mixture of water and soap as they go. Once the mold is filled, it is secured closed with plastic clips, then put through the washer and dryer. The heat causes the wool to bond together, forming the body and securing the eyes and nose (carefully placed by hand at the outset) in place. The wow! moment occurs when the mold is opened to reveal a brand spanking new canine pal, as cuddly and colorful as can be!
