Duple is a fast-moving, quick-thinking game. One way to describe it would be 'controlled chaos.' The rapid, sometimes hectic pace - players flipping cards, sputtering words - is a major part of the fun, and never quite spins out of control. The energy remains high from start to finish. Most of the cards in the deck are Letter Cards, each of which displays both a letter and a symbol. Two other types of cards always appear face-up on the table throughout the game - Category Cards, each of which names a category (Verb, Noun, Animal, etc.) and Wild Cards, each of which displays two symbols. Players rapidly take turns flipping cards from the tops of two draw piles until a Face-Off is triggered. This most commonly occurs when two different players show the same symbol on their cards. Those two players immediately race to be first to say a word that is at least 5 letters long, contains the letters shown on both their cards, AND conforms to the Category Card on the table. A Face-Off can also be triggered by two players each displaying one of the two symbols shown on the current Wild Card. The winner of a Face-Off collects the loser's top card, and the player with the highest number of wins at the end is the winner. Face-Offs often occur one after another in quick succession, making this action-packed fun for the entire family. 2 to 6 Players. (Toy Fair Booth #5959)
