Crayola Color Spinout makes it remarkably easy to create a huge range of colorful designs and patterns with surprising speed. Just insert a paper disc, choose a marker color, and turn the handle. The marker, which is held in place tip-to-paper at the intersection of two plastic drawing arms, follows a route determined by an angle setting and two arms settings chosen in advance. The artistic results can be quite dramatic due to the precision with which the marker follows some fairly elaborate paths when the device's handle is cranked. Children can experiment on their own or use an included design guide that shows the settings for creating a wide variety of patterns. For even greater variety, kids can layer patterns on top of one another or slide as many as three markers into the drawing arm at once, where they execute 3 distinct patterns in different colors simultaneously. Uses Crayola Pip-Squeaks Skinnies markers, 6 of which are included along with 40 paper discs, a tracing disc and the unit itself.
