One of the many delightful and effective things about this interactive app is the way it delves into the topic of art from a variety of angles, in entirely relatable ways. The visuals, dialogue, and narration are top-notch, and the lessons and activities a joy to experience. Humor and animation play a big part in the app's accessibility. Three animated characters, Furnace, Tickles, and Ruby (a polar bear and penguin siblings) provide an entertaining, light-hearted feel, while both the visual and written content yield a depth necessary for any exploration of art to be meaningful. Each lesson builds on the previous one and must be completed before the next can be unlocked. Activities within each lesson fall nicely into three categories: sayART (explores a specific aspect of art), seeART (video segments that include art by well-known artists), and doART (hands-on exploration using the app's creative tools).
