As you turn the pages of WADDLE!, the animal images on them really move, using a special process called scanimation that allows them to hop, prance, stomp, slither, flap, scamper, leap, and of course, waddle, right before your eyes. It's like having a nifty little movie screen on every page. By toggling the pages back and forth, you can keep the creatures in motion (frogs, pigs, elephants, snakes . . .) and witness the type of movement described by the text. Even without scanimation, this book would be a find due to its hearty, colorful construction and exciting, playful feel that draw the hands and eyes to it over and over again. Ingenious!
