Tug and the Tooth is a lovely addition to the Tooth Fairy tradition, one that enhances and commemorates the milestones that occur when children lose one of their baby teeth. The set includes a beautifully illustrated hardcover book and a plush version of Tug, the adorable tooth-shaped character who comes to life in the book. The adventurous story gives children a reassuring context for their impending tooth loss while teaching them the importance of taking care of their teeth. Plush Tug has a tiny, velcro-sealed backpack, a safe haven in which the child's tooth is placed at bedtime. During the night, Tug (who is a special friend of the Tooth Fairy) makes sure a special gift is left in exchange for the tooth. Throughout the sometimes trepidation-filled days leading up to a tooth coming free, kids take immense comfort in having Tug to hold and to cuddle, knowing he will take good care of them when the big moment arrives.
