The PT49 is a digital keyboard so light and compact that a child can easily carry it anywhere it needs to go. The space it takes up when stored is next to nothing, the entire unit rolled snugly into a cylinder roughly 5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. When unfurled, its keys are surprisingly 3-dimensional, making the PT49 an excellent practice instrument on which children can build both the muscle memory and ear-training so essential to a young musician's development. There are eight different playing tones to choose from - Acoustic Grand Piano, Orchestral Harp, Church Organ, Tubular Bell, Electric Guitar (Jazz), Violin, String Ensemble 1, and Acoustic Guitar (Steel). Children can plug in headphones to practice quietly or use the PT49's built-in speaker (or an external one) to perform for others. Six different demo songs nicely display the keyboard's capabilities, while the unit's record feature gives kids the power to lay down their own musical performances for later playback.
